Cardiovascular fitness, also known as aerobic fitness (means "with oxygen") is the ability of the heart, lungs and vascular system to deliver oxygen to working muscles during physical activity. The maximum volume of oxygen your body can consume and use is your VO2 Max. Your cardiovascular and respiratory systems include your heart, blood, blood vessels, and lungs. This type of training decreases your risk of cardiovascular diseases such as heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure, hypertension and diabetes. There are variety of cardiovascular exercises with different intensities and duration. A certain level of basic cardiovascular fitness can be achieved by performing activities such as running, cycling, dancing, aerobics, jogging, and swimming at least three times a week. Read more...
