Your eyes are one of the body's most powerful organs, your windows to the world. Good eyesight plays an important role in your life, so it's important to take care of your eyes. Considering how important your vision is, caring for your eyes should be a part of your daily routine. Poor vision makes it hard or impossible to carry out you daily tasks. If you spend a long time using a computer or watching television, your eyesight can get worse. Reading in poor light can be bad for your eyes, and it's not recommended.
As you get older, your eyesight naturally getting worse. Eyeglasses makes you see better, but they cause vision to get worse over time. Your eyes require certain nutrients to maintain clear eyesight and proper operation. Nearsightedness or "Myopia" is a vision condition in which close objects are seen clearly, but objects farther away appear blurred. Taking care of your eyes can restore your sight.

- Protecting your eyes starts with the food on your plate. Help your eyes by getting plenty of nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids, amino acids, lutein, zinc. Make sure that you are geting enough of vitamins A, C and E. These vitamins are essential to healthy eyes and normal eyesight. Carrots, blueberries, apricots, and other foods rich in beta carotene and are very good for your eyes. Proper nutrition will keep your eyes strong and healthy.
- Limit the amount of screen time you spend working with computer, watching TV or playing video games in order to prevent your eyesight.
- You should avoid or protect against UV light by wearing sunglasses. Sunlight contains harmful UV rays that can damage your sight. Sunglasses provide protection from ultraviolet rays in sunlight.
- Drinking plenty of water can prevent your eyes from becoming dehydrated. If your eyes are often dry, blurry and tired try to increase your water intake.
- Getting enough sleep is essential for your eye health. Sleep allows your eyes to fully repair, rest and recover. Lack of sleep can do harm for your eyesight, so make sure that you are getting at least 8 hours of good sleep.

Eye Exercises to Improve Vision
- At least every two hours, get up and take a 20 minute break. If your eyes are dry, try to blink more.
- Every 20 minutes, rest your eyes by focusing on object that's 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
- Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise.
- Put your thumb five inches away from your face and focus on it, after five seconds focus on something behind it. Do this for about ten times and whenever you have time.
- With the pointer finger of each hand, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Massage over your eyebrows and under your eyes as well.
- Grab a pen and hold it at your arm’s length, making sure that the pen is at eye level. Focus on the tip of the pen as you move it closer to your eyes. Stop when you get about 6 inches away from your face, and focus on the tip as you move it back to your arm’s length. You need to do this slowly and focus on the tip of the pen. Repeat this exercise about 10 times.
- Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times.
